Cooled air hood could be a key part of your grow tent ventilation kit.Growing Gear

Growing weed can require quite a few items. Just when you think that you\’ve got everything, a new idea pops into your head, and something else is needed. Well, this page is a good resource for some of the most cost effective and functional tent growing equipment you can find online.

I have shopped around at local hydro stores, but a lot of them are just so expensive, now I buy most of my stuff online. However, a lot of the items on Amazon are unfortunately quite low quality. I\’ve compiled these lists of the most cost effective options, balanced with durability and functionality.

Take a peek at the research I\’ve done for you guys, I think it\’s quite informative, and I hope it helps.

Lights

Light is the food source for plants, so it\’s crucial to get a good solution. Whether it\’s a powerful LED panel or an intense HID, these options will get your buds sticky and dense.

How To Choose Grow Lights

\There are many options for lighting, but I have a few rules of thumb which should narrow down what kind of lighting you want.

First let\’s discover the three main modes of lighting for a grow: HID – High intensity discharge bulbs, LED – light emitting diodes, or Fluorescent solutions like T5s or CFLs.

HIDs are very very intense, thus the name. They suck a lot of power, make a lot of heat, but have the best light penetration. Not good for grow boxes, require a good amount of ventilation, especially if you\’re in a hot area, but gives the best results in my opinion,

LEDs are great because they don\’t produce much heat, are very energy efficient, and can get extremely bright on just a low amount of power. The thing is, you need the right panel which will give you a good full-spectrum solution. Otherwise, although the light might be bright, it won\’t activate the right photo receptors, and so it won\’t be as effective. Follow our Best LED Guide for the best information.

How To Choose A Tent

\Choosing a grow tent is honestly pretty easy, it just comes down to how much you want to spend, and what kind of features you want. I think there are a few things to consider:

Viewing Windows: Do you want to be able to look in on your weed plants without opening the door? Get a tent with viewing windows.

Ventilation Sockets: Plan out how you will be running your ventilation in advance. Make sure the tent offers holes in the right places. To ensure air tightness, buy a tent with double socked holes.

Material Quality: The inner mylar material can range from 95-98% reflective. Also, some of the canvas material is heavy and rugged, while others have little pinholes. I am quite honest of this in my tent reviews, which can be found above.

Structural Qualities: Not all tent structures are made equally. Some of the tents are all metal structure, while others feature plastic clips for the corners. Consider this point when buying a tent.
